Despite the relentless slaughter, there are small signs of change in the Faroe Islands. From thefts of grindadráp equipment to anti-grind stickers and growing public debate, opposition is emerging. Most strikingly, Tórshavn—the capital where over 40% of the population lives—recently declined an offer of pilot whale meat, signalling a generational shift and a community less willing to accept the grind as tradition.
